Being attentive to protecting the environment and limiting our impact on the planet nowadays is not only an ethical and moral matter, but it is also a value-added to be competitive in the global market. Increasingly tightened legislation and more rigorous environmental standards force the companies to be able to combine quality, price and a reduced environmental impact, especially for those who work in the global market.

Foundry Ecocer, the market leader in producing and selling products and machinery for the metallurgical treatments of non-ferrous alloys, has already started a process of reducing its environmental impact a long ago, starting to use self-produced photovoltaic energy in 2008. Over the years, investments have increased to become more efficient in energy levels. There are even more studies to produce more eco-friendly products, finding solutions that would favour eco-friendly raw materials.
In previous years, the company built 4.0 plants, integrated with smart-metering systems, and in 2022 it built a new photovoltaic plant, which will power the facility based in Ossona, joining the one already in place in the factory in Arluno; in this way more than 50 per cent of the electric energy consumed it will be self-produced from renewable sources.
Now Foundry Ecocer has set a new and ambitious goal: zero its carbon footprint during the next three years. The first operations are planned for 2023, when the company founded by Maurizio Sala will be certified ISO 14001. It will carry out a study to know exactly how much carbon dioxide emits, following the strict standard ISO 14064, a milestone that has to be reached before starting the emissions reductions, which will bring Foundry Ecocer to be Carbon Neutral in 2025.
