Wink Equipment plans US$1.55mn investments for an aluminium trailer plant in Kentucky

<p>Dawson Springs in Kentucky becomes home to the new manufacturing unit of an aluminium trailer manufacturer, reports local media. Wink Equipment is reported to be investing US$1.55 million in the project which includes building a 69,000 square foot facility. The company plans to manufacture 400 to 600 aluminium side-dump trailers per annum at the Dawson Springs location. <br /><br />Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin said in a press release, Wink chose the location for its proximity to aluminium producing sites and for being a strategic location for shipping.<br /><br />Wink's president Jimmy Wink said, "We&rsquo;re thrilled to start manufacturing in Western Kentucky. It&rsquo;s a region I&rsquo;ve known for years and, for our company, it offers the skilled workforce, raw materials and access to market we need."</p> <p><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/wink-MATS2011-CR-TB.jpg" alt="News" width="517" height="226" /><br />The aluminium trailer manufacturing company received preliminary approval from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in October this year for tax incentives up to $480,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment programme. This granted Wink a portion of its investment through corporate income tax credits, according to the release. <br /><br />{googleAdsense}<br /><br />Wink Equipment has been allowed to use the Kentucky Skills Network, a manpower hiring system which allows companies no-cost recruitment and job placement services at a reduced training cost and other related incentives. <br /><br />Operations at the aluminium trailer manufacturing plant are scheduled to begin next year.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
