Dawson Springs in Kentucky becomes home to the new manufacturing unit of an aluminium trailer manufacturer, reports local media. Wink Equipment is reported to be investing US$1.55 million in the project which includes building a 69,000 square foot facility. The company plans to manufacture 400 to 600 aluminium side-dump trailers per annum at the Dawson Springs location.
Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin said in a press release, Wink chose the location for its proximity to aluminium producing sites and for being a strategic location for shipping.
Wink's president Jimmy Wink said, "We’re thrilled to start manufacturing in Western Kentucky. It’s a region I’ve known for years and, for our company, it offers the skilled workforce, raw materials and access to market we need."

The aluminium trailer manufacturing company received preliminary approval from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in October this year for tax incentives up to $480,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment programme. This granted Wink a portion of its investment through corporate income tax credits, according to the release.

Wink Equipment has been allowed to use the Kentucky Skills Network, a manpower hiring system which allows companies no-cost recruitment and job placement services at a reduced training cost and other related incentives.
Operations at the aluminium trailer manufacturing plant are scheduled to begin next year.
