The year 2021 shows how the recycled aluminium industry has bounced back after experiencing fluctuating demand due to the pandemic and ensuing lockdowns in 2020 and early 2021. As a result, AlCircle has come up with its recently published sector focus report 2021, titled, “World Recycled Aluminium Market Analysis - Industry Forecast to 2026.” This analysis delves further into the global aluminium recycling industry and its potential for growth in the coming years.

Due to the unwinding of pent-up demand, global recycled aluminium utilisation is expected to reach 26 million tonnes in 2021. AlCircle has emphasised the use of recycled aluminium in important areas such as China, North America, South America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and others in this research. China is the largest user of recycled aluminium in the world and its recycled aluminium consumption is estimated to reach 14.5 million tonnes by 2026.
This report also calls attention to the importance of recycling aluminium. Aluminium is one of the few nonferrous metals that can be recycled completely. It's a non-magnetic, ductile metal with a low density, high strength-to-weight ratio, and a wide range of uses. Over a billion tonnes (around 75%) of all aluminium produced throughout history is still in use.
Recycled aluminium has emerged as one of the most sustainable resources due to the rising demand for aluminium in the global market from the transportation and packaging industries. The rising popularity of "closed-loop recycling" has pushed various recycling companies, mostly in North America and Europe, to increase their capacity for recycling aluminium. Global recycled aluminium output declined from 26 million tonnes in 2019 to 24.5 million tonnes in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. During the previous decade, the recycled aluminium industry exploded in China, India, and Brazil. After rebounding from the pandemic's setback, recycled aluminium demand is expected to grow at a strong rate in the next years, reaching over 32 million tonnes by 2026.Brazil. Overall, the report shares an in-depth analysis of the recycled aluminium market, its performance and how it is expected to perform in the coming future.
