About the event

Commenting on the event, Mr John Slaven, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, said, "We offer our customers in the automotive industry an unmatched combination of advantages: global expertise, cutting-edge technology, customised alloys, ease of doing business, a reliable supply chain and most importantly, an unyielding commitment to sustainable business practices. Backed by innovative product development, technological sophistication and localisation, they represent an opportunity for Indian automotive players to compete at the same level as global companies."

Aluminium boasts a lightweight nature and a host of advantageous properties, including a high strength-to-weight ratio, exceptional electrical conductivity, remarkable corrosion resistance, and recyclability. These attributes position it as a prime choice for diverse applications within the rapidly expanding automotive industry,  projected to contribute nearly 15 per cent to India's GDP by FY31. On average, an internal combustion (IC) engine vehicle incorporates around 180 kilograms of aluminium, while an electric vehicle currently utilises nearly 260 kilograms of metal.
