
Vedanta Limited trimmed its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices, with effect from Saturday, July 30, in line with a drop at the end of last week, July 29. Vedanta cut its aluminium wire rod price by INR 1,250 per tonne from INR 233,500- 241,000 per tonne to INR 232,250- 239,750 per tonne.

Aluminium billet price also witnessed a reduction of INR 1,250 per tonne to stand at INR 233,750 per tonne, as against INR 235,000 per tonne on July 29.
The company’s aluminium ingot price was no exception but saw a dip from INR 226,000-257,500 per tonne on July 29 to INR 224,750- 256,250 per tonne on July 30.
As mentioned, Vedanta reduced its aluminium products and aluminium ingot prices in response to the downfall in three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange by US$6 per tonne of July 29 from US$2,458 per tonne to US$2,452 per tonne.
Vedanta’s aluminium business typically accounts for one-third of the company’s consolidated sales. Vedanta has a stake in Bharat Aluminium Co Ltd and smelters at Jharsuguda in Odisha. It commands a 40% share in India's primary aluminium market.
