
The United States aluminium crude metal and alloys imports from Qatar stood at 5,310 tonnes in September 2020, recording an increase of 2,160 tonnes or 51.28 per cent after two consecutive months of decline. In August, the United States imported 3,150 tonnes of aluminium semis from Qatar, 400 tonnes lower than 3,550 tonnes in July 2020. The imports in July stood down by 670 tonnes or 15.88 per cent month-on-month from 4,220 tonnes.

In the third quarter of 2020 ended on September 30, the US aluminium crude metal and alloys imports from Qatar totalled 12,010 tonnes, down by 30.42 per cent from 17,260 tonnes in Q2 2020.
On a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium semis imports from Qatar in September 2020 stood 43.51 per cent lower than 9,400 tonnes.
In the first nine months of the year, the United States imported 49,000 tonnes of aluminium crude metal and alloys from Qatar, significantly down by 60.16 per cent from 123,000 tonnes during the same period last year.
The United States total imports of aluminium crude metal and alloys in September 2020 came in at 214,000 tonnes, bringing the imports in the nine months of the year to 2.57 million tonnes, up by 26.60 per cent year-on-year from 2.03 million tonnes.
