
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 16,300 tonnes of aluminium scrap from Mexico in August 2021, showing a month-on-month descends of 1,700 tonnes or by 9.44 percent. In July 2021, 18,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap were imported from Mexico, showing a drop down of 4.25 percent from 18,800 tonnes in June 2021.

On a year-on-year calculation, aluminium scrap imported from Mexico in August 2021, moved up by 5,500 tonnes or by 50.92 percent from 10,800 tonnes.
From January to August2021, the imported aluminium scrap by the United States stood at 139,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount exported by Mexico was recorded at 95,100 tonnes.
Based on the reports shared by the United States Geological Survey, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets, bars, crude metals and alloys, and scrap imported from China for August 2021 settled at 23,700 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount totalled at 13,900 tonnes, showing an increase of 9,800 tonnes in 2021.
