
According to the data found by the US Census Bureau, the United States aluminium scrap imports from Canada stood at 34,200 tonnes in April 2021. That stood flat compared to 34,800 tonnes in March but up by 16.72 per cent from 29,300 tonnes in February. The imports in March recorded an increase of 18.77 per cent month-on-month than 29,300 tonnes.

On a year-on-calculation, the United States aluminium scrap imports from Canada in April 2021 registered a surge of 101 per cent from 17,000 tonnes.
In the first four months of the year, the United States imports from Canada totalled 133,000 tonnes, reflecting an increase of 25.47 per cent from 106,000 tonnes during the same period last year.
The United States total aluminium imports (including aluminium crude metals and alloys and aluminium plates, sheets and bars) from Canada came in at 299,000 tonnes in April 2021, bringing the first four months imports at 1.02 million tonnes.
On a month-on-month calculation, the United States total aluminium imports from Canada stood 9.52 per cent higher in April in comparison with 273,000 tonnes, while on a year-on-year basis, the imports registered an increase of 22.04 per cent from 245,000 tonnes.
