
In November 2021, the United States exported 32,600 tonnes of aluminium scrap to the Republic of Korea, which was an increase of 4,200 tonnes or 14.79 per cent month-on-month, found the US Census Bureau data. In October 2021, the United States’ aluminium scrap exports to South Korea were 28,400 tonnes, up by 13.60 per cent from 25,000 tonnes in September.

On a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium scrap exports to South Korea in November 2021 stood 29.37 per cent higher than 25,200 tonnes.
In three-month time, the United States aluminium scrap exports to South Korea totalled 86,000 tonnes.
From January to November, the Republic of Korea imported 254,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap in total from the United States, which was, however, a decrease of 5.22 per cent from 268,000 tonnes.
The United States total aluminium scrap exports in November 2021 came in at 208,000 tonnes, an increase of 9,000 tonnes or 4.52 per cent from 199,000 tonnes in October. On a year-on-year basis, the exports surged by 18.86 per cent in November from 175,000 tonnes.
