
According to the US Geological survey, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico stood at 24,700 tonnes during July 2023, recording a month-on-month fall of 5.36 per cent from 26,100 tonnes. The export in July marked a fall for the second month in a row. In June, the export volume stood 10.92 per cent lower than 29,300 tonnes in May.

On a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico during July 2023 reflected an increase of 69.18 per cent from 14,600 tonnes, found USGS data.
From January to July 2023, the United States exported 175,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to Mexico versus 88,000 tonnes during the corresponding period of the previous year.
In July 2023, the United States total exports of aluminum plates, sheets and bars stood at 63,400 tonnes, down by 6,600 tonnes or 9.43 per cent from 70,000 tonnes a month ago. However, on a year-on-year basis, the exports edged a rise of 67.72 per cent from 37,800 tonnes.
The United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Mexico during January-July 2023 were recorded at 461,000 tonnes – 79.38 per cent higher than 257,000 tonnes a year earlier.
