United States monthly aluminium scrap imports from Mexico for February’22 shows continuous growth

As per the USGS data, US aluminium scrap imports from Mexico for February 2022 closed at 17,100 tonnes, which on a month-on-month calculation surged by 1,700 tonnes or 11.03 per cent from 15,400 tonnes in January 2022. For January 2022, a growth of 700 tonnes or 4.76 per cent was recorded on an m-o-m basis from 14,700 tonnes in December 2021.

US Aluminium Scrap import from Mexico

The total amount of aluminium scrap imported by the US for February 2022 halted at 46,200 tonnes. However, on a month-on-month scale, the quantity for February 2022 had decreased by 500 tonnes or 1.07 per cent from 46,700 tonnes in January 2022. A slump of 1,700 tonnes or 3.51 per cent was recorded on a month-on-month forefront in January 2022 from 48,400 tonnes in December 2021.

US’s M-o-M aluminium scrap imports from Mexico for February’22 shows continuous growth

In all 680,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap were imported by the United States in 2021. According to the USGS statistics, the highest amount of aluminium scrap was imported from Canada, with the quantity settling at 25,200 tonnes. On the other hand, the highest exporter of aluminium scrap for February 2022 was India, with 11,600 tonnes.
