Ultraviolette’s newly launched e-bike features aerospace-grade aluminum components

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Bangalore-based Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the new F77 Space Edition electric motorbike featuring aerospace-grade aluminium. Using aerospace-grade aluminium for some sections and body panels makes the Space Edition distinctive and more expensive than the standard motorbike. This limited edition e-bike of just 10 pieces has incorporated numerous fail-safe mechanisms for the battery and a 9-axis IMU that monitors roll, pitch and yaw, precisely like in an aircraft.

For decades, the aerospace sector has pushed the frontiers of technology, and one of them is aluminium, which was initially used in aeroplanes many decades ago but has now become a cornerstone in the automobile industry. The aerospace sector uses higher grades of aluminium, known as 7075 alloys. It is stronger, lighter, and can withstand the pressures and temperatures experienced by aeroplanes, spacecraft, and military equipment.

"We are excited to bring to you our latest creation – the F77 Space Edition and can't wait to hand over the keys to 10 special riders. Ultraviolette aims to constantly push the boundaries of science and technology, and the Space Edition is the best way to celebrate this commitment. As the aerospace industry is where the pinnacles of technology are achieved, the F77 Space Edition proudly commemorates India's celestial journey. The very same DNA is clearly reflected in the Ultraviolette F77 Space edition. Infused with aerospace grade attributes and a distinctive design ethos, the F77 Space Edition stands as a testament to our resolute commitment to charting the course for the future of electric mobility," said Narayan Subramaniam, Co-Founder and CEO of Ultraviolette Automotive while announcing the launch of the special edition e-bike.

The aerospace sector has fully leveraged the benefits of aluminium as a lightweight material for many years. Aluminium has made significant inroads in rail and shipbuilding as a material of choice. Read more from AL Circle's report titled "Global Aluminium Industry Outlook 2023."

The Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition is available in a limited edition shade that is truly aerospace-grade paint. This paint can withstand extreme circumstances, such as temperature and velocity. This permits the paint to retain its qualities even under harsh conditions, and since it is highly specialised, it also results in a drag reduction, assisting the motorcycle's performance. Customers will also get a unique key from a piece of aerospace-grade aluminium.
