Turkey to import less and export more of aluminium powder and flakes in 2017

Aluminium powder is a granular powder which is obtained from pure molten aluminium metal while aluminium flakes comes from aluminium powder through dry ball milling process. Aluminium powder is used in making paints and sealants, sparkles and glitters, aerated autoclave concrete, reflective roof coating and printing inks.

The global aluminium powder market grew at a CAGR of around 2% during 2009-2016, reaching a volume of 589,012 tons in 2016, as stated by IMARC Group.

As shown in data, Turkey imported 3122 tonnes of aluminium powder and flakes in 2015 with total revenue of USD 14 million. The country exported 385 tons less aluminium powder and flakes in 2016. The total revenue of import was USD 13.74 million. In 2017, the import is expected to be at 2381 tonnes and valued at USD 13 million.

Turkey exported 120 tonnes of aluminium powder and flakes in 2015 as compared to 93 tonnes in 2016. The total value of export was USD 0.55 million and USD 0.22 million respectively. In 2017, the country is expected to export 110 tonnes of aluminium powder and flakes more from the last year with total revenue amounting to around USD 0.46 million.
