Tungaloy, the cutting tool manufacturer from Japan, has launched its latest Tungrec DX110 series of PCD insert grades to achieve precisely machined aluminium alloy parts. This move was followed by the release of Tungaloy’s new Addforce brand.
This newly added DX110 PCD insert grade might change the entire aluminium machining concept for the Tungaloy Tungrec milling range. The DX110 grade includes an ultrafine micro grain structure that ensures a smooth surface texture and exceptional component quality. Though the machine is designed for machining ISO N materials, it provides precision machining for an elongated period of time. End users are to financially benefit from this instalment since this would deliver extended tool life and allow prolonged periods of unmanned operations by decreasing insert consumption.
These latest DX110 inserts are the first PCD range to be mounted along the Tungrec line, making it possible for the Tungrec users to enhance aluminium machining capabilities with the existing tool bodies in the compound. Currently, the PCD inserts are available for Tungrec 11-size tool holders, letting the user better the performance of small diameter milling tools where vibration and extreme tool overhang possibilities prevail.
Moreover, the insert technique and characteristics might allow cutting forces to create a significantly smooth cutting action that quickly removes chips from the work area while omitting increased vibrations and delivering smooth surface finishes.
Equipped for machining aluminium components in the aerospace, automotive and general subcontract arenas, the DX110 insert grade and the Tungrec tool holders for insert size 11 delivers the manufacturers with an incomparable cutting tool solution for products as small as 12 mm in diameter. This new Tungrec range also encompasses the jobs up to 100 mm in diameter allotted for the existing Tungspeed-Mill PCD series, where the smallest diameter tool body is 50 mm.
