Tumi’s Fall 2023 pop-up store in Seoul pays tribute to its iconic 19 Degree Aluminium briefcase

EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Tumi, the manufacturer of high-end luggage and travel bags, is advertising its Fall 2023 collection with a pop-up shop from 3 to 15 July at Seoul's Lotte World Mall Atrium (1F). The Fall 2023 Essentially Beautiful Pop-Up has a sculptural façade inspired by the forms of Tumi's 19 Degree Aluminium briefcase and a series of installations exhibiting Tumi's Hypercraft design concept's creative and cultural world.

Son Heung-min, a well-known South Korean player, teamed with the business to develop a locker-inspired display that contained souvenirs and individually autographed merchandise. The experience is the season's unique launch, pulling inspiration from the shapes and workmanship of the travel and leisure brand's 19 Degree 'hard side' baggage. The store's design incorporates contemporary installations and artwork.

Michael Murphy's multidirectional perspective sculpture, which pays homage to the brand's 19 Degree design, is perhaps the most striking. The artwork, dubbed Tumi Hypercraft Sculpture, is displayed in the centre of the pop-up and plays with the viewer's vision, producing the appearance of a 19 Degree Aluminium sculpture changing into the Tumi brand letter "T" as people walk around it.

Sustainability in the global aluminium industry

“Tumi’s relentless pursuit of excellence and passion for what we do is displayed beautifully through the installations. Collaborating with Michael Murphy and Son Heung-min underlines our obsession with finding beauty in the details and constantly elevating Performance,” said Victor Sanz, creative director at Tumi.
