Trivium Packaging, one of the leading providers of high-quality and recyclable metal packaging, announced that it is entering a new market segment. The company plans to create aluminium closures for liquid edible oil, which can generate potential profit for the business. This is the first time aluminium has been modified to be acceptable for edible oil closures, despite metal having long been utilised for more conventional huge tins of bulk liquid or in aerosol versions of edible oil containers.

Aluminium packaging for edible oils provides the lightweight properties typically associated with plastic without the worry of leaching, as well as the premiumisation of glass due to its increased durability due to its resistance to punctures and inability to shatter. However, the advantages of using aluminium for edible oil packing don't end there.
Both consumer demand and environmental crisis are driving the need for more sustainable packaging alternatives. Additionally, marketers may capitalise on the economic potential of aluminium packaging, given that 74 per cent of consumers are prepared to pay more for environmentally friendly packaging.
Aluminium is a highly sustainable metal. Its infinitely recyclable and reusable nature makes it one of the most widely used sustainable metals. Also, the metal will take care of the technical attributes of the oil.
Additionally, the high-speed in-line printing used in metal packaging allows it to adopt almost endless graphical effects without needing labels, setting it apart from the plastic and glass bottles already on the shelves. Brands may get the desired result by using the entire container surface without ever including paper or plastic components.
