STAS completes acquisition of technologies from o.d.t. Engineering

STAS has announced through a press release that it has purchased technologies from o.d.t. Engineering PTY. LTD finalized in April 2018. O.d.t. Engineering is a family owned Australian company specialized in the design and supply of casting and material handling equipment and production consumables for magnesium and aluminium casthouse.

Since the late 1980’s, STAS has been supplying various equipment and solutions for the casthouse as well for the electrolysis, carbon and crucible shop areas in the aluminium industry. This transaction further enhanced its position as a world class supplier of innovative equipment for the aluminium sector and paved the way for new business opportunities.

The transaction includes the capacity, without limitation, and a right to operate the business exclusively worldwide and brand the name o.d.t. Engineering. After-sales service of STAS will be responsible for all equipment sold from now on.

The purchased assets include:

Ingot casting and stacking for aluminium (ICS) and magnesium
Sow casting and stacking (SCS) for all sow ingot weight range, including mould, pouring, skimming and vacuum sow removal.

STAS will be responsible for marketing, sales and fabrication of new equipment related to the acquired technologies as well as any equipment upgrades. O.d.t. Engineering also grants an exclusive and perpetual right of use of its name to STAS for the continuation of the business.
