Spot alumina prices in the China market remain firm; Chalco hikes aluminium prices

After declining through the first fortnight of May, alumina prices in China have registered a gain and currently remain flat throughout all the major markets.

As on May 19 2017, as reported by Shanghai Metals Market; the average spot alumina price in South China market stands at RMB 2,265/t. In the North China Market, the average spot alumina price stands at RMB 2300/t. Market price difference between north China and south China remains unchanged at around RMB35/t.

The average spot alumina price in East China market stands at RMB 2,320/t. In the Central China Market, the average spot alumina price stands at RMB 2310/t.

Alumina prices from large scale alumina enterprises remained firm. Chalco alumina prices remain stable at RMB 2,475/t and are expected to move within a range of RMB 2,450- 2,500/t.

In the import market; average imported alumina price remains flat at RMB 2,800/t and it is expected to move within a range of RMB 2,770- 2,830/t.

Currently, among the domestic markets, East China market has the highest alumina price excluding the prices offered by Chalco.

China Aluminium International Trading Co. (Chalco Trading) has hiked the prices of A00 Aluminum Ingot it offered in major markets today after a cut in previous day.

A00 Aluminum Ingot for Zhejiang province in East China market stood at RMB 13,905/t. For the North China market, it stood at RMB 13,910/t and for Northeast China market it stood at RMB 13,875/t.
