Spot alumina prices in the China market on upward track; A00 aluminium prices on the rise

After declining through the first fortnight of May, Alumina prices in China have registered a gain and now continue to grow firm throughout all the major markets.

As on May 24 2017, as reported by Shanghai Metals Market; The average spot alumina price in East China market increased from RMB 2380/t on May 23 to stand at RMB 2,430/t.  In the Central China Market, the average spot alumina price stands at RMB 2420/t, up from RMB 2370/t on May 23.

The average spot alumina price in South China market increased from RMB 2315/t on May 23 to stand at RMB 2,365/t. In the North China Market, the average spot alumina price increased from RMB 2350/t on May 23 to stand at RMB 2,415/t. Market price difference between north China and south China also increased to RMB50/t.

Alumina prices from large scale alumina enterprises remained firm.  Chalco alumina prices remain unchanged from May 23 at RMB 2,550/t and are expected to move within a range of RMB 2,500- 2,600/t.

In the import market; average imported alumina price remains flat at RMB 2,800/t and it is expected to move within a range of RMB 2,770- 2,830/t. Currently, among the domestic markets, East China market has the highest alumina price excluding the prices offered by Chalco.

The prices for A00 Aluminum Ingot for all provinces in the China markets have registered a gain today from yesterday May 23. Currently, among the domestic markets, A00 Aluminium Ingot at South China market registers the highest price at RMB 13,910/t. A00 Aluminium Ingot in spot China market is trading at discounts of RMB 110-70/t.

China Aluminum International Trading Co. (Chalco Trading) has hiked aluminum prices of A00 Aluminum Ingot it offered in major markets today after deep cuts in previous day.
