
South Korea's imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 18,900 tonnes in December 2020, from 22,900 tonnes in December 2019. That marked a decrease of 17.47% year-on-year. On a monthly basis, imports declined by 25% from 25,200 tonnes in November 2020, as updated by the US Census Bureau.

For the full year of 2020, South Korea imported 287,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap, from 273,000 tonnes imported for the full year of 2019. That was up by 14,000 tonnes and 5.13% year-on-year.
South Korea's imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US were 19,800 tonnes in December 2020, down by 20% from 24,800 tonnes in December 2019. Imports stood 26% lower from November imports of 26,700 tonnes.
In January-December 2020, total imports came in at 308,000 tonnes, from 301,000 tonnes imported in January-December 2019, representing an increase of 2.33% year-on-year.
