SMM A00 aluminium ingot price stands RMB750/t M-o-M higher, up RMB110/t today; Alumina price loses RMB5/t

The Shanghai Metals Market on March 26 showed peak rises in the cost of aluminium, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price registering a rate of RMB 19,450 per tonne, gaining RMB 110 per tonne. If the aluminium price on March 19 last week is considered, we can see a stark Week-on-Week augmentation of RMB 200 per tonne.

On a Month-on-Month scale, the SMM A00 aluminium price has levitated by RMB 750 per tonne from RMB 18,700 per tonne, as recorded on February 26.

The eight major provinces in China have all displayed huge spikes in aluminium prices, with the highest addition of RMB 110 per tonne marked in Wuxi, Hangzhou and Shenyang. The first two withheld a price of RMB 19,430 per tonne, while the last one flashed RMB 19,370 per tonne.

Other than that, all the individual areas recorded a considerable jump of RMB 100 per tonne. Following the prices have been separately specified:

Gongyi – RMB 19,330 per tonne

Foshan – RMB 19,400 per tonne

Chongqing – RMB 19,380 per tonne

Tianjin – RMB 19,390 per tonne

Linyi – RMB 19,400 per tonne

China’s low-carbon aluminium price has scored RMB 683 per tonne on a Month-on-Month scale, recording a price of RMB 20,288 per tonne on March 26, from RMB 19,605 per tonne on February 26. It has soared by RMB 116 per tonne today.

China’s high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) prices have both floated upward by RMB 100 per tonne, officiating at RMB 26,900 per tonne and RMB 27,900 per tonne.

China’s average alumina price has slumped by RMB 5 per tonne today to close at RMB 3,313 per tonne, with a Month-on-Month drop of RMB 39 per tonne from RMB 3,352 per tonne recorded on February 26. The alumina price in Shanxi has also lost RMB 5 per tonne to settle at RMB 3,282 per tonne. The Australian Alumina FOB price has dipped by US$2 per tonne to arrive at US$367 per tonne.

The prices of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A360) have both secured RMB 100 per tonne to close at RMB 20,050 per tonne and RMB 20,350 per tonne.

China’s aluminium powder price has grown by RMB 0.10 per kg to close at RMB 21.90 per kg, with the average prices ranging between RMB 21.80 per kg and RMB 22 per kg.
