
The economy of Slovenia is developed and the country enjoys a high level of prosperity and stability as well as above-average GDP per capita by purchasing power parity at 83% of the EU28 average in 2015. The major Slovene industries that contribute to the economy are electrical equipment, electronics, trucks, chemicals, processed food, ferrous metallurgy and rolling mill products, aluminium reduction and rolled products, and lead and zinc smelting.

The Central European nation’s export of aluminium scrap remained robust during 2017-19, as the export volume stood at 130,958 tonnes and the revenue earnings stood at $119.07 million. The projected export for 2020 has been analysed at 52,771 tonnes and the earnings to reach $52.94 million. However, when the estimated export volume and earnings of 2020 get added with the previous three years, it exhibits 183,729 tonnes and $172.01 million respectively.
In 2017, Slovenia’s export of aluminium scrap was recorded at 26,902 tonnes and the revenue generation stood at $18.88 million, whereas in 2018 the aluminium scrap export rose to 52,483 tonnes, growth by 95.08% and the earnings swung up to $49.42 million.

Aluminium scrap export of Slovenia in 2019 saw dip by 1.73%, as the export volume fell to 51,573 tonnes, while earnings kept growing and reached to $50.77 million.
The analysed export for 2020 has been notified with growth by 2.32%, as the export volume to rise at 52,771 tonnes and earnings to also tick up at $52.94 million.
Slovenia’s major trading nations for exportation of aluminium scrap are Bosnia Herzegovina, Austria, Czech Rep, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, etc.
