Rusal’s second quarter alumina production up 2.1% sequentially
<p>Rusal reported 2.1% sequential increase in alumina production in Q2 2017 at 1,928 thousand tonnes. Russian alumina refineries accounted for 36% of total output. All the refineries reported optimum production volumes according to the plans. Windalco, Auginish and Bogoslovsk faced minor drop in production due to seasonal repair works, which was offset by improved production performance at Achinsk and Urals.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong style="text-align: center;">Alumina production results&nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="text-align: center;"><strong><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/rusal%20alumina2.jpg" alt="News" width="517" height="226" /></strong></p> <p>Rusal completed capacity upgrades at Nikolaev and Urals refineries and both the refineries contributed largely towards the YoY production increase in Q2 2017.</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>Bauxite output increased 7.7% QoQ to stand at 3,090 thousand tonnes. &nbsp;Nepheline output at Timan and Kia Shaltyr increased by 22.7% and 5.2% QoQ to meet the production plan needs of the Urals and Achinsk alumina refineries. Production volumes at Kindia increased 4.6% QoQ in Q2 2016. Bauxite production from Bauxite Company of Guyana dropped 2.4% QoQ due to operational issues.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
