On April 22, Round Bottom Recycling in Milford US was giving US$1 per pound in return of cans that were ready for recycling. This was an Earth Day deal offering consumers nearly double the prevailing cost for aluminium cans.

Round bottom employee Lonnie Wilson recalled that the last time the company provided as much money for cans was in 2012, when more than 330 customers cashed in on their cans in one day.
“We’re all in a good market right now. The economy is needing aluminum, copper, brass to rebuild the world to recycle and Earth Day is the biggest recycling day of the year,” said Wilson.
Owner Zach Moore had stated that business on Earth Day was quite full as customers were receiving good amount for every type of metals they were bringing. Moore will go back to offering 60 cents per pound for aluminium cans, after Earth Day. He also expects the business to continue strong in the economy.
“Aluminum cans, lead acid batteries out of cars and lawn mowers, old appliances, painted siding, aluminum siding off the houses, insulated copper wires, brasses, copper pipe. Pretty much if its metal we’re going to take it. We’re going to buy it from you,” added Moore.
