
The metals and mining giant Rio Tinto is offering aluminium medals to the 3,200 finalists of the 52nd Quebec Games, 2017 winter edition. The event is taking place in Alma, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Canada from 24 February to 4 2017.

The aluminium medals are crafted in the region representing a symbol of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean: aluminium. In addition to this, the company is sponsoring the 2017 Quebec Winter Games and has offered financial support worth $300,000.
Guy Gaudreault, general manager, Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Smelter, Rio Tinto, said, “This regional product highlights the know-how and expertise of our employees and partners who help us make aluminium with the lowest carbon footprint in the world.”

During the opening ceremony of the 2017 Quebec Winter Games, Mr. Gaudreault.said, “The Quebec Games bring the entire regional community together. We are very proud to be involved, and I am delighted with the energy and determination showed by the organisers and citizens since the city of Alma was nominated.”
“Rio Tinto supports healthy lifestyle choices, which are incredibly positive for youth development. This partnership is our way of investing in our future,” he concluded.
