Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. said Thursday that second-quarter profit surged more than 60 percent on demand for its products by companies in energy, farming, aerospace and other industries.
CEO David H. Hannah said sales volume and pricing "held up reasonably well" considering that mill prices for the metals it sells fell during the second quarter.
