This installation is expected to gather around 20 million old aluminium cans annually. On March 31, 2023, Gränges announced the formation of a joint venture with Shandong Innovation Group (SIG) to build a recycling and casting factory in the hydroelectricity-rich Chinese province of Yunnan. Lancaster City Council is launching a new coffee pod recycling scheme in collaboration with Podback to assist citizens in recycling old coffee pods. Budweiser Brewing Co APAC Ltd, the largest beer company in the Asia-Pacific in respect to sales revenue, has reportedly launched a 'Can-to-Can' recycling programme in China to boost the activity of aluminium cans recycling. The objective is to increase the use of recycled aluminium in cans to reach the goal of reducing carbon emissions by 35 per cent by 2025.
The can-collecting campaign organised by Vigo County CASA has surpassed initial projections, resulting in an overwhelming number of aluminium cans collected. As a consequence, Sugar Creek Scrap has reached its capacity for accepting more cans until the year 2023. The initiation of the can collecting began on July 10th.
