Re:Water, the British spring water brand known for its 100 per cent recycled aluminium bottles, has expanded its product line with a new 330ml bottle. This addition caters to the hospitality industry's growing need for sustainable, premium alternatives to single-use plastics.
The new 330ml bottle, available in both still and sparkling variants, complements Re:Water's existing 500ml offering. A larger 750ml bottle is also slated for release later this year. Designed for reuse and full recyclability, the sleek aluminium bottle aligns with eco-conscious initiatives across various sectors. A survey involving over 2,000 UK adults and 1,300 professionals in the hotel and travel sectors revealed that 78 per cent of consumers prefer aluminium packaging over single-use plastic or glass. Additionally, 88 per cent of hospitality professionals expressed a desire for more sustainable options, especially in light of rising glass costs under the UK's new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme.
Ben Richardson, Co-founder of Re:Water, stated, "Our research indicated a strong demand for 330ml aluminium bottles over cartons and cans, particularly in hotels, restaurants, and catering. This new size offers a premium, sustainable solution at a more accessible price point."
Since its inception in 2021, Re:Water has sold over 10 million bottles across the UK, equating to 78 bottles every second. The brand's commitment to sustainability is further evidenced by its use of 100 per cent recycled aluminium, which requires 95 per cent less energy to produce compared to new aluminium. Moreover, aluminium's high recyclability rate of over 75 per cent in the UK makes it a preferred material for eco-friendly packaging.
Matt Crocker, Co-founder of Re:Water, added: "The sustainable bottled water market is rapidly growing. As category leaders, we're evolving to meet both consumer and business needs. With the increasing costs of glass packaging under the new EPR scheme, our endlessly recyclable aluminium bottles are more relevant than ever for sustainable, on-the-go hydration.
Re:Water's expansion reflects a broader trend in the reusable water bottle market, which reached a value of USD 9.70 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to USD 15.24 billion by 2034, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.65% from 2025 to 2034.
