Raminfo powering India’s clean energy future with US$56.75M contract from RRECL

EDITED BY : 3MINS READ

Raminfo, the India-based technology solutions provider, has secured an INR 474 crore (US$56.75M) contract from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL) to design, supply, install, and maintain rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems totalling 73 MW. The solar panels will be installed on various state government buildings and affiliated establishments across Rajasthan.

The project, to be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM), includes end-to-end operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years. Raminfo will oversee the project through its subsidiary, Raminfo Green Energy Pvt Ltd, which holds a 51 per cent stake.

Beyond installation, Raminfo will also deliver long-term operation and maintenance services, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the solar systems over time. This not only provides clients with consistent and efficient clean energy but also creates a steady stream of recurring revenue for the company. The contract underscores Raminfo’s expanding expertise in providing comprehensive renewable energy solutions. It aligns with the government’s focus on decentralised energy infrastructure and contributes to India’s broader sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.

Why Rajasthan?

Aluminium is one of the basic elements used in solar panels. Not only this, rooftop solar PV systems can act as one of the substantial sources of energy for aluminium plants by delivering a cost-effective and eco-friendly source of electricity. These systems help reduce dependence on grid power, potentially lowering overall operational costs.

  • Craftsman Automation, a leading Indian manufacturer of complex lightweight aluminium components for the automotive and industrial engineering sectors, has signed an agreement with the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) to establish a new manufacturing facility in Alwar, Rajasthan.
  • Insolation Energy (INA Solar), a prominent Indian solar energy provider and manufacturer, has announced plans to set up a 3 GW photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district. As part of its expansion, the company also aims to establish a 12,000 metric tonne per annum (MTPA) aluminium frame production unit in the region.

In conclusion, Raminfo’s rooftop solar PV project and the upcoming aluminium facilities in Rajasthan illustrate a powerful synergy shaping the region’s industrial landscape and India's green ambition. Together, these investments paint a compelling picture of Rajasthan as a rising clean tech and aluminium manufacturing hub.  These developments signal not only a new dimension of growth for Rajasthan but also a broader transformation of India’s industrial landscape where energy efficiency, sustainability, and domestic manufacturing are becoming central to economic development.

India’s rooftop solar sector is witnessing rapid growth, with an installed capacity of 13.7 GW as of December 2024.  Driven by supportive government initiatives, declining costs, and increasing awareness of solar energy’s advantages, the market is projected to reach USD 4.46 billion by 2033.
