
Shanghai Metals Market data showed primary aluminium inventories in China lost 23,000 tonnes across eight major consumption areas, including SHFE areas, to stand at 1.23 million tonnes as of April 8, 2021.
Last week on April 1, the inventories stood at 1.251 tonnes across China, climbing by 8,000 tonnes week-on-week.

In Gongyi, primary aluminium inventories decreased by 14,000 tonnes week-on-week to come in at 175,000 tonnes, while the stocks in Nanhai plunged by 12,000 tonnes to settle at 303,000 tonnes. In Shanghai and Tianjin, primary aluminium inventories dropped 3,000 tonnes and 2,000 tonnes to clock at 96,000 tonnes and 58,000 tonnes, respectively. In Hangzhou, the inventories slipped by 1,000 tonnes to close at 104,000 tonnes.
On the other hand, primary aluminium inventories in Wuxi saw an increase of 8,000 tonnes to stand at 472,000 tonnes, while in Linyi inched up by 1,000 tonnes to 15,000 tonnes. In Chongqing, however, the inventories remained restrained at 5,000 tonnes as of April 8, found SMM.
