LME aluminium price edged 1.25% higher to US$2267.50/t; SHFE aluminium price inched up by US$2/t

Three-month LME aluminium settled 1.15 per tonne higher at US$ 2,285.50 per tonne on Thursday, and is expected to trade between US$ 2,250-2,310 per tonne today.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price surged by US$ 28 per tonne or 1.25 per cent to settle at US$ 2267.50 per tonne as of Thursday, April 8. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price grew by US$ 21.50 per tonne to stand at US$ 2280 per tonne. Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price crossed the US$ 2300 per tonne level to reach US$ 2314 per tonne, soaring by US$ 55.50 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock inched up from 1860125 tonnes to 1860850 tonnes on Thursday, April 8. Live Warrants totalled 1344575 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 516275 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price came in at US$ 2270.63 per tonne as of April 8.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE grew by US$ 2 per tonne to stand at US$ 2671 per tonne on Friday, April 9, 2021.

The most-active SHFE 2105 aluminium contract added 0.29 per cent to close at RMB 17,540 per tonne in overnight trading, with open interest losing 3,747 lots to 190,000 lots. It is likely to trade between RMB 17,450-17,650 per tonne today.
