Polestar, the renowned electric car manufacturer, is venturing into the handheld device realm with its inaugural AI smartphone crafted from aerospace-grade aluminium and crystal-polished glass. The grand unveiling is slated for April 23rd, 2024, in China, coinciding with the debut of the concept car Synergy, all set to unfold at the prestigious Polestar Brand Night event.

Polestar has taken to Weibo to entice its audience with a series of sneak peeks unveiling the much-anticipated AI smartphone. So far, the glimpses reveal a device designed with meticulous attention to detail.

The frame, elegantly rounded at the edges, is crafted from NP66 aerospace-grade aluminium, renowned for its shockproof properties. This ensures durability even in the event of accidental drops. This choice of material fortifies the smartphone against breakage and imbues it with anti-deforming characteristics, promising longevity and resilience. Turning the spotlight to the device's rear, Polestar showcases a sleek glass covering meticulously polished with a soft-sand-made crystal. This unique finishing technique adds a touch of sophistication and serves a functional purpose.

As per AL Circle's new industry-focus report, "Global ALuminium Industry Outlook 2024 ", aluminium, a versatile and lightweight metal, plays a significant role in manufacturing smartphones, accounting for approximately 14.17 per cent of the materials used.

Polestar further emphasizes the sensory experience of its AI smartphone, likening its texture to the smooth and luxurious feel of terrazzo stone. This intentional design choice aims to evoke a connection with raw materials, adding a tactile dimension to the device's aesthetics.

Moreover, accents of electroplated gold adorn various elements of the AI smartphone's design, imparting a sense of opulence and refinement. From the circular frame surrounding the fourth rear camera to the device's 'tray pin', ' this lustrous shade of gold adds a touch of elegance that catches the eye when illuminated.

 Even the charging cable accompanying the AI smartphone is infused with this sophisticated hue, creating a cohesive and visually striking ensemble. With each detail carefully curated, Polestar's AI smartphone emerges as a technological marvel and a testament to the marriage of design and craftsmanship.

Collaborating closely with Meizu

Polestar's inaugural AI smartphone boasts a generously sized display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and stunning 2K visual quality. The design team proudly reveals that the device achieves an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.5 per cent, virtually eliminating borders and bezels for a truly immersive viewing experience. Its slender form factor enhances aesthetics and facilitates comfortable one-handed usage, ensuring effortless handling for users.

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) support into the device's software heralds a new era of intuitive interaction. While Polestar has yet to unveil specifics, the promise of AI-driven optimization assistance suggests a streamlined user experience. This innovation may reduce the need for multiple touch commands to navigate apps and settings, offering unparalleled convenience.

Collaborating closely with Meizu, a prominent smartphone and technology manufacturer, Polestar's global design team has meticulously crafted the AI smartphone. This partnership, forged in 2023 to develop the operating system for Polestar's vehicles in China, underscores Polestar's commitment to seamless integration of technology across its product lineup.
