The economic recovery of New Zealand is likely pursued in Q2, though at a minimised pace. The robust expansion in electronic card transactions, combined with a considerable fall in the unemployment rate and higher consumer confidence, indicates resilient household spending. The economy is set to recoil strongly in 2021, cushioned by recovering domestic and foreign demand amid the gradual lifting of restrictions and expansionary fiscal and monetary policy stances.

New Zealand’s import of aluminium household articles

The island country in the south-western Pacific Ocean, New Zealand with a population of approx. 4.86 million, imported 3510 tonnes of aluminium household articles during 2019-20 and the expenditure occurred for the import accounted to $25.63 million.

New Zealand’s import of aluminium household articles in 2019 was recorded at 1739 tonnes and the expenditure occurred for the import counted to $12.71 million, whereas, in 2020 the import signified a levelled movement with a marginal growth by 1.84%, as the import volume grew to 1771 tonnes and the expenditure rose to $12.92 million.

The household articles importation of New Zealand in 2021 is evaluated with a nominal rise of 0.84%, as the import volume is expected to grow at a level mark of 1786 tonnes, while the expenditure to gain momentum and stand at $13.37 million.

The major trading destinations for New Zealand’s import of aluminium household articles are Australia, China, France, India, Germany, USA, Italy, etc.
