New partnership for Warrington Youth Zone and Novelis drives next-gen talent development

A new emerging partnership that not only takes the industry forward but also the rising youth, shaping their career with various opportunities. Warrington Youth Zone, a new state-of-the-art Youth Zone providing a safe, inspiring place for young people, shared that it has partnered with Novelis, a leading sustainable aluminium solutions provider and the world leader in aluminium rolling and recycling, for two years, which began on April 1. Novelis, with this collaboration, aims to provide the Youth Zone with financial support, opportunities for volunteering and active involvement in the centre’s employability programme.

Warrington Youth Zone’s head of fundraising, Jamie Paterson, noted that they are excited to welcome Novelis as one of their newest partners. He added that receiving support from a well-known global organisation, especially one with deep local ties in Warrington, adds a lot of value to them and the young people they are working for.

Novelis will not only support in terms of finance, but also aid in running their program, build eagerness to engage through volunteering and employability initiatives. These initiatives shall offer the youths in question valuable insights, which are valuable for their potential career paths.

Moreover, employees from Novelis will be volunteering at the Youth Zone, where they will be sharing their professional experiences, mainly concentrating on the recycling sector and related career opportunities.

This centre acts as a hub, supporting thousands of youth aged seven to nineteen and even up to 25 for those with additional needs, providing a variety of activities that include sports, creative arts, mentoring and career guidance.

Owing to this, Allan Sweeney, the Plant Manager at Novelis Latchford, stated, "We are incredibly proud to partner with Warrington Youth Zone for the next two years. At Novelis, our purpose is to support the communities where our employees live and work. By investing in the Youth Zone’s employability programme, we are helping local young people develop the real-world skills they need to thrive. Our team at the Latchford plant is especially excited to get involved through volunteering and to see first-hand the positive impact this partnership will have across Warrington."

The major aim of this partnership is to provide young people with a real chance to enter the industry with insights and career paths that will be fruitful for them. At Warrington Youth Zone, a welcoming space for young individuals will be created, aiding them to build confidence, pick up new skills, and discover their true potential, whilst enjoying over 20 different activities.

The Warrington Youth Zone and Novelis collaboration results in a strong dedication towards fostering the future of young people in Warrington and creating a brighter tomorrow for the next generation.
