
According to the report by Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Dutch economy is projected to grow by 2.7% in 2021 and 3.7% in 2022, reaching pre-crisis levels at the beginning of 2022. Consumption will drive the recovery as households normalise their saving after the sharp increase in 2020. Private investment will improve, but continue to be held back by lingering uncertainty. However, Bankruptcies are expected to rise and unemployment is set to peak in the second half of 2021.

The sixth most expensive nation in the European Union, Netherlands exported 143,752 tonnes of aluminium foil during 2018-20 and the earnings occurred from the export accounted for $402.24 million.
In 2018, Netherlands export of aluminium foil was recorded at 19,845 tonnes and the earnings registered from the export was $99.17 million, whereas, in 2019, the export unveiled enterprising growth by 138.44%, as the export volume rose to 47,320 tonnes and the earnings surged to $146.20 million.

Netherlands export of aluminium foils in 2020 was registered at 76,587 tonnes, an upswing by 61.84% and the earnings for the export climbed to $156.87 million.
The export for 2021 is estimated with further growth of 4.33%, as the export volume is expected to remain at 79,909 tonnes, while the earnings stand at $145.88 million.
The major trading destinations for Netherlands export of aluminium foil are Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, China, Canada, Colombia, etc.
