National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has raised the prices of its aluminium ingot and aluminium products with effect from Wednesday, January 6, after reducing them for the two consecutive times. NALCO’s aluminium ingot price has come in at INR 171,550-175,050 per tonne, recording a significant increase of INR 4,100 per tonne from INR 167,450-170,950 per tonne on January 1.

NALCO’s aluminium wire rod price has been increased by INR 4,100 per tonne from INR 170,950-175,300 per tonne on January 1 to INR 176,150-179,400 per tonne on January 6, 2021.
Since the latest hike, NALCO’s aluminium billets price is standing at INR 175,000-177650 per tonne against INR 170,900-173550 per tonne on January 1.
NALCO, like any other Indian aluminium producers, links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which during January 4-6 increased from US$ 2013.50 per tonne to US$ 2027.50 per tonne. So, currently, the LME aluminium three-month futures price is up by US$ 255.50 per tonne or 14.42 per cent from the beginning of 2020.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
