National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has again raised its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices significantly after increasing them by INR 6,600 per tonne last week, April 9. With effect from April 16, NALCO’s aluminium ingot price came in at INR 201,250-204,750 per tonne, up by INR 7,000 per tonne from INR 194,250-197,750 per tonne on April 9.

NALCO is selling its aluminium wire rod price at INR 204,750-209,100 per tonne, also an increase of INR 7,000 per tonne from INR 197,750-202,100 per tonne. NALCO’s aluminium billets price also saw a surge of INR 7,000 per tonne to 204,700-207,350 per tonne on April 16 from INR 197700-200,350 per tonne on April 9.
NALCO, like any other Indian aluminium producer, links its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices to the three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange, which skyrocketed this week by US$ 54.50 per tonne to reach US$ 2308.50 per tonne as of Friday, April 16. On a year-on-year calculation, the price is currently up by US$ 832.50 per tonne or 56.40 per cent.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
