
Three-month LME aluminium edged down 0.09 per cent to settle at US$ 2267 per tonne on Monday, April 12, while on Tuesday, April 13, it settled 1.65 per cent higher at US$ 2304.50 per tonne. On Wednesday, April 14, three-month LME aluminium settled 1.02 per cent higher at US$ 2328 per tonne. LME complex also cruised high on Thursday, April 15, including aluminium that gained 0.39 per cent.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price skyrocketed this week by US$ 54.50 per tonne to reach US$ 2308.50 per tonne. Both the prices started the week on Monday, April 12, at US$ 2254 per tonne, which on the next day, April 13, grew to US$ 2278 per tonne. On Wednesday, April 14, the prices further increased to US$ 2297.50 per tonne. On Thursday, April 15, the prices crossed the US$ 2,300 per tonne level to stand at US$ 2328 per tonne, which, however, on Friday, April 16, decreased to US$ 2308.50 per tonne.
3-months bid price and 3-months offer price increased from US$ 2268.50 per tonne on Monday, April 12, to US$ 2324.50 per tonne on Friday, April 16. On Tuesday, April 13, the prices stood at US$ 2293 per tonne, climbing by US$ 24.50 per tonne from US$ 2268.50 per tonne on April 12. On Wednesday and Thursday, the prices further rose to US$ 2315 per tonne and US$ 2344 per tonne, respectively. On Friday, both 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price decreased by US$ 19.50 per tonne to US$ 2324.50 per tonne.
Dec 22 bid price and Dec 22 offer price grew from US$ 2308 per tonne to US$ 2337.50 per tonne this week. The LME aluminium opening stock plunged from 1847600 tonnes on Monday, April 12, to 1824250 tonnes on Friday, April 16.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE soared by US$ 138 per tonne to stand close the week on Friday, April 16, at US$ 2789 per tonne. The price started the week on Monday, April 12, at US$ 2651 per tonne, which on Tuesday, April 13, increased to US$ 2661 per tonne. On Wednesday, April 14, the price surged by US$ 75 per tonne to US$ 2736 per tonne, which on April 15, grew further to US$ 2761 per tonne. On Friday, the price closed even higher by US$ 28 per tonne to US$ 2789 per tonne.
