Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White is all set to launch his auspicious brand in 100 per cent recycled aluminium bottles. His brand, Mr White’s Gin, will use post-consumer recycled aluminium as a sustainable choice to aim at capturing the global travel retail market.
{alcircleadd}Marco developed this gin with Chris Sadler, a sixth-generation distiller. The product ‘London Dry Gin’ is now available in 50 ml recycled aluminium bottles. Marco developed these bottles by partnering with Sustainaholics. This strategic step is ideal for the distribution of the merchandise in airlines, cruise lines, rail operators, and hotels.
Using post-consumer recycled aluminium as an alternative to traditional glass makes the packaging more durable. These single-use bottles can be recycled again to recover aluminium for reuse. Introducing these new aluminium bottles will also reduce PET bottle usage.

The aluminium used in these ‘alumini’ gin bottles has already completed its economic lifecycle. Hence, this approach will support circular economic goals by reducing reliance on virgin aluminium. The high recyclability of aluminium and lower lifecycle emissions have made it a viable alternative.
In fact, the brand will also be able to cut down its environmental footprint considerably. This packaging shift will also offer immense benefits to travel and hospitality operators. These bottles are lighter than glass and are shatterproof. They are easier to handle in high-intensity environments like flights and cruises.
Once used, the disposal of these bottles is very easy. Aluminium is 100 per cent recyclable without losing quality. In fact, recycling aluminium consumes 95 per cent less energy than the virgin metal. These features contribute to improved operational efficiency and align with sustainability targets.

David Mills said, “The aluminium is recognised as a gamechanger, loved not only for its sustainability credentials but also for the stunning bottle designs that have seen it win multiple design and innovation awards. As a firm supporter of independent, British brands, we’re delighted to offer Mr White’s Gin in our format, a brand that chimes with our ethos for offering desirable premium products in a more sustainable and visually striking way.”
Marco Pierre White is often referred to as the ‘first celebrity chef’ of the UK restaurant sector. He became the youngest chef at 33 and the first to earn 3 Michelin stars. His packaging shift will set a broader trend for the premium brands to follow.
