
Mozambique is located on the southeast coast of Africa. It is bound by Swaziland to the south, South Africa to the southwest, Zimbabwe to the west, Zambia and Malawi to the northwest, Tanzania to the north and the Indian Ocean to the east.

The below-par quality of the countries bauxite reserves and in-disciplined marketing has affected the export of the aluminium ore. Mozambique’s principal customer for its bauxite has been Zimbabwe and Zambia stood as a minor buyer.
The nation’s bauxite export during 2017-2019 has been recorded at 22,437 tonnes and the foreign revenue earning stood at $2.71 million. The bauxite export estimated for 2020 has been analysed for 10,547 tonnes and the income might reach to $1.26 million. When the analysed export value and income get added with the previous three years it stands at 32,984 tonnes and $3.97 million respectively.
In 2017, Mozambique’s bauxite export was recorded at 6498 tonnes and the revenue generation stood at $0.78 million, whereas in 2018 there was a rise by 8.78%, as the total bauxite export stood at 7069 tonnes and the earning also saw growth to $0.87 million.
The bauxite export in 2019 also saw a rise by 20.30% Y-o-Y basis, as the total export volume stood at 8870 tonnes and the revenue income reflected growth to $1.06 million.
The projection for bauxite export in 2020 has shown a growth of 18.90%, as the total export would reach to 10,547 tonnes and the revenue generation is expected to jump to $1.26 million.
