
The economy of Moldova slides towards one of the poorest countries in Europe. The economy is heavily reliant on agriculture and manufacturing industries being the minor also supports the GDP of the nation. The manufacturing industries generally deliver scraps, pre-dominantly aluminium and on time to time basis, it gets exported.

The Eastern European nation’s export of aluminium scrap during 2018-19 accounted for 5141 tonnes and the revenue earnings recorded at $6.20 million. The export for 2020 remained at 2399 tonnes and the earnings stood at $2.13 million. However, when the export volume and earnings for 2020 gets assorted with the existing two years, it signifies 5141 tonnes and $8.33 million respectively.

Moldova’s export of aluminium scrap in 2018 stood at 3814 tonnes and the earnings remained at $4.97 million, whereas, in 2019, the export reflected de-growth by 65.20%, as the export volume fell to 1327 tonnes and earnings also dropped to $1.23 million.
The export for 2020 revealed an up-turn by 80.78%, as the export volume grew to2399 tonnes and the earnings also rose to $2.13 million.
The major trading destinations for Moldova’s export of aluminium scrap are Austria, Germany, Poland, Romania, etc.
