Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced the joining of Midal Cables as the new Production and Transformation member. Founded in 1977, Midal is known for manufacturing aluminium rods, wires and overhead conductors for electrical transmission.

With a current capacity of more than 350,000 tonnes annually, it has grown from a relatively small capacity of 15,000 tonnes of aluminium rods and a comparable level of ability to make overhead conductors become one of the top producers of aluminium rods in the world.
“Our mission is to position our manufacturing presence in close proximity to our global customers and provide superior quality products by implementing our global competitiveness, social responsibility, excellent customer care, innovative technology, and environmental sustainability. Joining ASI will help us to acquire and share best ESG practices and improvement opportunities across the aluminum sector and others,” said Kersi Master, Chief Executive Officer of Midal Cables.
Although it has production facilities in Turkey, Mozambique, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Midal Cables is headquartered mainly in the Kingdom of Bahrain. As Midal purchases metal in liquid rather than solid form, the company always seeks to locate its manufacturing site close to an aluminium smelter.
