1MINS READ
Meller Optics, Inc. supplies a whole line of calcined alumina polishing powders (high purity) easy to mix with de-ionized water for lapping, grinding and finishing a wide range of optics. Meller Microlux Alumina Powders are available in two grades and also seven particle sizes from 0.05 - 3.0 microns. These powders are ready-to-mix with de-ionized water to produce surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig. They are suitable for lapping, grinding and polishing, they are ideal for hard as well as soft optics including barium and calcium fluoride, silicon, germanium, zinc sulfide, zinc selenide, stainless steel and semi-soft crystalline materials.

Meller Microlux-R Alumina Powders feature 99.98% purity and include large agglomerated particles which breaks down under pressure due to aggressive grinding and lapping. Meller Microlux-RZ contains controlled deagglomerated particles and 99.99% purity, so they are offered for fine grinding and uniform optical polishing. Both grades are water soluble and also non-toxic.

Meller Microlux Alumina Powders price ranges from $46.60 to $95.00 per pound, depending upon their grade, quantity and particle size. Price quotations and free samples are available upon request.
