Melic Sea Group---50bn Alumina Industry Cluster Come into Operation

Melic Sea positively respond to National Development and Reform Committee’s strategic goal to establish new aluminum industrial base in Mongolia, Shanxi, Ningxia etc. on the basis of being equipped with development condition for industrialization.
It is reported that since the early 1998, Melic Sea Group has contributed to the study and development of extracting alumina from coal ash. It obtained proprietary intellectual property right and nine patent technologies. Meanwhile, the item has approved by the National Development and Reform Committee and listed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the key project of our national “863” western new material industrialization.
The first -stage project is estimated to be effective in September next year with 200,000 tons alumina. The rest production capacity would successively be accomplished during the twelfth five- years plan. At that time, there would be heat power plant with 5*600MW, alumina and electrolytic aluminum capacity of 1million tons and 0.5 million tons respectively. It would bring about 44.14 billion annual worth and provide 7,600 jobs thus making sure aluminum industry develops towards a sustainable direction.
