Ford China announced on May 6, 2024, that Ai Xiaoming has officially assumed the position of President of Changan Ford, reporting to the Board of Directors of Changan Ford.
He Xiaoqing, the current President of Changan Ford, will retire on June 1, 2024. Ahead of his retirement, he will serve as a senior advisor and aid in the seamless transition to Ai Xiaoming.
Changan Ford (full name Changan Ford Automobile Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese automotive manufacturing company headquartered in Chongqing. It is a 50/50 joint venture between local Changan Automobile and US-based Ford Motor Company. The company's principal activity is the manufacture of Ford-brand passenger cars for the Chinese market.
Bringing over two decades of experience in China's manufacturing and consumer electronics sectors, Ai Xiaoming has held CEO and other high-level executive positions in various Fortune 500 companies operating in China for the past decade. With a wealth of expertise in comprehensive enterprise management and operational transformation, he is poised to lead the Changan Ford team. His leadership aims to fortify partnerships, enhance product quality, optimise production capacity utilisation, and propel Changan Ford's evolution towards electrification and intelligent technologies.
Before joining Ford China, Ai Xiaoming held several senior management roles, including Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal in Shanghai, CEO of GiantKONE Elevator, and President and CEO of Whirlpool China.
During He Xiaoqing's tenure as President of Changan Ford, he significantly contributed to the transformation and growth of the joint venture business, enhancing performance, and improving organizational efficiency. His leadership was instrumental in guiding Changan Ford from consecutive losses to sustained profitability over three years. Ford China extends its appreciation to He Xiaoqing for his valuable contributions during his tenure with Ford China and its joint ventures.
Ford dedicated extensive research efforts to aluminium manufacturing for more than two decades. The automaker now employs a mixture of alloys that draw from the rich history of applications in various sectors, such as military and aerospace.
