LME aluminium price climbed 2.41% to stand at US$2147/t; SHFE price gained US$21/t to US$2548/t

The LME complex performed similarly on Thursday, with aluminium increased 1.35 per cent. Benchmark aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange edged 2.41 per cent higher on Thursday, February 18.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price continued to increase to reach at US$ 2147 per tonne on Thursday, February 18, from US$ 2096.50 per tonne on Wednesday. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price came in at US$ 2161 per tonne, soaring by US$ 57.50 per tonne from the previous day. Dec 21 bid price and Dec 21 offer price hovered around US$ 2209.50 per tonne.

The LME aluminium opening stock decreased from 1365375 tonnes to 1360850 tonnes on February 18. Live Warrants totalled 1131850 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 229000 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price rose to US$ 2135.89 per tonne on Thursday from US$ 2091.50 per tonne on Wednesday.

SHFE Aluminium Price Trend

Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE gained US$ 21 per tonne to close the week on Friday, February 19, at US$ 2548 per tonne.

The most-liquid SHFE 2103 aluminium contract finished the day 4.1 per cent higher at RMB 16,510 per tonne. Open interest fell 4,091 lots to 147,075 lots.
