LME aluminium price chart declines further: Cash at $3,175/t; stocks dip nearly 1%

The London Metal Exchange (LME) aluminium price chart continued to record a declining trend across all the pricing segments at the close of the June 24 trading session. Only the alumina pricing segment showed consistency.

The LME aluminium cash bid as well as offer prices eased by 0.59 per cent day-on-day. The bid reached USD 3,174.5 per tonne on July 24 from USD 3,193.5 per tonne on July 23. The offer shifted to USD 3,175 per tonne from USD 3,194 per tonne.

On June 24, both the LME aluminium three-month bid and offer prices reported a 0.68 per cent fall. The bid slipped to USD 3,160 per tonne from USD 3,181.5 per tonne as the offer slumped to USD 3,160.5 per tonne from USD 3,182 per tonne.

On the longer-dated contracts, both the Dec-27 bid and offer prices recorded a 0.64 per cent fall over the previous session. The bid closed at USD 3,088 per tonne, down from USD 3,108 per tonne, and the offer softened to USD 3,093 per tonne to USD 3,113 per tonne.

The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price closed at USD 3,159.5 per tonne on June 24, dropping 0.89 per cent from USD 3,188 per tonne on June 23.

LME aluminium stocks recorded further decline as of June 24. The opening stocks slipped from 276,775 tonnes to 275,175 tonnes, marking a 0.58 per cent decrease.

Live Warrants, too, shifted from 245,900 tonnes to 245,400 tonnes, reporting a 0.2 per cent dip.

Similarly, cancelled warrants slumped 6.49 per cent from 29,275 tonnes to 27,375 tonnes.

LME alumina Platts remained unchanged at USD 337.16 per tonne on June 24.
