

LME aluminium prices edged higher on January 13 compared with the previous session, while inventories showed a marginal decline.
{alcircleadd}The LME aluminium cash bid price stood at USD 3,193 per tonne on January 13, up from USD 3,185 per tonne on January 12, marking an increase of 0.25 per cent. The cash offer price rose from USD 3,185.5 per tonne to USD 3,194 per tonne, an increase of 0.27 per cent.
In the futures market, the LME aluminium 3-month bid price increased from USD 3,177 per tonne on January 12 to USD 3,183 per tonne on January 13, up by 0.19 per cent. The 3-month offer price also moved higher, rising from USD 3,177.5 per tonne to USD 3,183.5 per tonne, a gain of 0.19 per cent.

Prices for the December 27 contract remained unchanged. The bid price stayed at USD 3,153 per tonne, while the offer price held steady at USD 3,158 per tonne.
The LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price on January 13 was recorded at USD 3,197.50 per tonne.
On the inventory front, LME aluminium opening stocks declined from 495,825 tonnes on January 12 to 494,000 tonnes on January 13, a decrease of 0.37 per cent. Live warrants increased slightly from 446,050 tonnes to 446,575 tonnes, up by 0.12 per cent, while cancelled warrants fell from 49,775 tonnes to 47,425 tonnes, a sharper decline of 4.72 per cent.
Meanwhile, the LME alumina Platts price was assessed at USD 308.48 per tonne.
