LME aluminium benchmark price expands by US$40/t to US$2,342/t; SHFE market is closed due to International Worker’s Day

On Friday, April 28, both LME aluminium cash bid price and LME aluminium official settlement price hiked by US$38.5 per tonne or 1.67 per cent and US$40 per tonne or 1.73 per cent to settle at US$2,340 per tonne and US$2,342 per tonne.

LME aluminium 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price expanded by US$32.5 per tonne or 1.40 per cent and US$34 per tonne or 1.47 per cent to peg at US$2,342 per tonne and US2,344 per tonne.

December 24 bid price and December 24 offer price increased by US$35 per tonne or 1.40 per cent to stand at US$2,522 per tonne and US$2.527 per tonne.

LME aluminium opening stock came in at 568500 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants were recorded at 491675 tonnes and 76825 tonnes.

LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price decreased by US$0.18 per tonne to halt at US$2.316.88 per tonne.

SHFE aluminium price

On Monday, May 1, the SHFE market is closed due to International Worker’s Day and will reopen on Thursday, May 4. However, on April 28, the SHFE aluminium benchmark price had settled at US$2,670 per tonne, with a US$16 per tonne or 0.59 per cent rise.
