
The LME complex rose across the board on Wednesday, with aluminium climbed 0.79 per cent. Benchmark aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange grew by 1.26 per cent to close at US$ 1976 per tonne on January 20.

LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME official settlement price increased to US$ 1976 per tonne from US$ 1951.50 per tonne on January 20, following three consecutive days of decline. 3-months bid price and 3-months offer price stood at US$ 1977 per tonne, up by US$ 19 per tonne from US$ 1958 per tonne on January 19. Dec 21 bid price and Dec 21 offer price hovered around US$ 2055 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock remained almost flat at 1417050 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1286575 tonnes, while Cancelled Warrants stood at 130475 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price came in at US$ 1983.16 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE rose to US$ 2299 per tonne on Thursday, January 21, after two days of decline in a row from US$ 2317 per tonne to US$ 2271 per tonne during January 18-20, 2021.
The most-traded SHFE 2103 aluminium contract shed 0.13 per cent to close the day at RMB 14,805 per tonne. Inventories of aluminium ingots are likely to continue to rise as consumption has weakened as it approaches the Chinese New Year holiday.
